Himalayan Pink Salt is mined by hand from the foothills of the majestic Himalayan Mountains. Harvested from ancient sea salt deposits, salt experts believe that this is the purest form of salt available.  We offer our gourmet food grade Himalayan Salt in a small grain. While you can find a wide variety of salt sizes available from fine to extra coarse grain, we like the small grain as we feel that this is best size to use in baking, cooking, grilling, seasoning and for making your own spice rubs. Himalayan sea salt is a dry salt and ranges in color from white to a reddish pink. It makes an excellent cooking salt and can also be sued in a salt mill as a finishing salt.

Himalayan Salt originates from marine fossil deposits which date back more than 250 million years ago to the Jurassic era. Harvested by hand from these ancient sea beds in the Himalayan foothills, this exceptional salt has been used as a highly sought after trade commodity for hundreds of years. For centuries it was brought down from the mountains and traded for currency or bartered for other goods.

This salt was used by the Himalayan people to preserve their fish and meat during the course of the year. This harvested by hand mining technique has been passed down from generation to generation. Once the salt is extracted it is then crushed by hand and placed in the sun to dry.

This fossilized pink salt has a rich mineral content with more than 84 minerals and trace elements including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium and potassium. High grade Himalayan Salt crystals range in color from sheer white to various shades of pink, to deep dark reds. This salt is highly sought after for its spectacular pinkish pink color, high mineral content and for its therapeutic properties.

Himalayan Pink Salt is used by gourmet and home chefs in the same manner as table salt for culinary dishes and baking. Himalayan Pink Salt goes well with soups, stews, pasta, salads, vegetables, seafood and grains.

We highly recommend storing your salt in a cool, dark place and heat, moisture and humidity will cause the crystals to clump.
